2027: Over 6,000 NDC members defect to PDP in Enugu

Over 6,000 members of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) in Enugu State have defected to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ahead of the 2027 general elections. The defectors, led by Mr Godwin Obasi, were formally received by the PDP state leadership in Enugu on Saturday. Obasi said the defectors came from all 260 electoral wards and 17 local government areas of the state, and that they left the NDC due to its decision to field unpopular candidates for various elective positions. He added that the group had resolved to join the PDP and participate fully in its activities ahead of the 2027 elections.
