Osahon Aburime, a Lyft driver in North Carolina, was injured in a car accident on Mother's Day last year while en route to pick up a passenger. Sixteen months later, he uses a cane to walk and has been unable to return to work as a ride-hailing driver. He is still fighting for an insurance payout and said the accident has made it harder to support his family.
