Matthew Rankin, a 52-year-old appliance technician in Greenville, South Carolina, quit his full-time job to focus on answering appliance questions online for JustAnswer. He now works nine to 10 hours a day and can make up to $15,000 a month. Rankin said the job can be hectic but offers flexibility and has become his main source of income.
