The Nigeria Democratic Congress has dissociated itself from the Presidential Campaign Council constituted by the Obi-Kwankwaso Movement. In a statement signed by its National Chairman, Sen. Moses Cleopas, the party described the announcement as unauthorized and urged the public and media to disregard it. The movement had unveiled a 59-member presidential campaign council ahead of the 2027 general elections, naming John Ugulu as Director-General and Saadatu Sani as National Secretary, among other positions. Cleopas stated that all candidates are contesting elections on the platform of NDC and are therefore subject to its authority and discipline, rather than any other group.
