A 22-year-old woman, Nwachukwu Chidubem Blessing, was arrested by the Anambra State Police Command in connection with an alleged case of fraud, conspiracy, and self-kidnapping. According to the command's spokesperson, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, she was allegedly abducted along the Onitsha–Asaba Expressway on 29th August 2026, and her family paid a N3 million ransom. Despite the payment, she was not released, prompting further investigation. The arrest was made by the Rapid Response Squad (RRS), Awkuzu, following credible intelligence gathered during the investigation.
