The Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) has expressed disappointment over what it described as the failure of the government to secure the release of hostages kidnapped by bandits since August 2026 in Dekara community, Borgu Local Government Area, Niger state. In a statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Muhammed Ishaq, the party said the inability to safeguard citizens from such acts is worrisome and unacceptable. The PRP urged the government to recognise that escalating incidents of banditry, kidnapping, and other security breaches across the North Central and North West regions pose an imminent threat. The party warned that if left unaddressed, these issues may escalate into catastrophic breaches of national security.
