Kevin Schreck, a 33-year-old from North Carolina, moved to Valencia, Spain, in 2018 for a teaching program after meeting his husband, who is from Valencia. Initially intending a short stay, Schreck decided to remain in Spain, where he feels safer and happier and finds life more affordable. He does not plan to return to the United States.
