The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Engr. Usman Maijama'a Kallamu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the winner of the Gombe/Kwami/Funakaye Federal Constituency by-election held on Saturday across three local government areas of Gombe State. The by-election was conducted to fill the vacant seat in the House of Representatives following the death of the former representative, Hon. Yaya Bauchi Tongo, who died on June 12 in Abuja. According to results announced by INEC, Kallamu scored 41,121 votes, while the Labour Party candidate scored 3,553 votes, the Allied Peoples Movement candidate scored 872 votes, and the National Democratic Party candidate scored 707 votes. With the highest number of votes, Kallamu was declared the winner.
