Dr Abass Mimiko, a former Zenith Labour Party governorship candidate in Ondo State, has called on Nigerians to demand accountability from state governors regarding increased allocations following the removal of petrol subsidy. Speaking with journalists in Ondo town at the weekend, he said the additional revenues should produce visible improvements in roads, healthcare, education and agriculture. Mimiko argued that citizens should not blame the Federal Government for every socio-economic challenge but should also seek explanations from state governments on the use of public funds. He also floated a coalition for President Bola Tinubu's 2027 re-election.
