The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) has warned against the use of rolling skate shoes, wheeled footwear, and similar devices on public highways. LASTMA General Manager Olalekan Bakare-Oki stated that such practices expose users to serious traffic hazards. He noted that the increasing use of footwear with concealed or retractable wheels on roads meant for motorised traffic is a safety concern, especially when users glide alongside vehicles or cross carriageways without protection. The warning was issued in a statement on Sunday in Lagos.
