Tinubu confirms absence from UNGA, asks Shettima To Lead Nigeria’s Delegation

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has confirmed he will not attend the 81st United Nations General Assembly in New York. The Presidency announced that Vice President Kashim Shettima will lead Nigeria's delegation to the event. This follows weeks of speculation about Tinubu's attendance, despite earlier statements from Nigeria's Permanent Representative to the UN, Jimoh Ibrahim, that provisions had been made for Tinubu to attend. The statement was issued by Stanley Nkwocha, spokesman to the Vice President.
