Manchester City beat Sunderland 5-3 at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday to open a three-point lead at the top of the Premier League. City took the lead in the ninth minute through Enzo Fernández, but Sunderland equalised via Brian Brobbey. Rayan Cherki restored City's advantage in the 29th minute, only for Brobbey to equalise again four minutes later. Antoine Semenyo scored in the 43rd minute to give City a 3-2 half-time lead and completed his brace 12 minutes after the restart. The result followed Arsenal's 3-0 defeat to Brighton on Saturday.
