Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, representing Kogi Central Senatorial District, has mourned former Kogi State Governor Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, popularly known as Ibro, who died in the United Kingdom on Sunday. In a condolence message, Akpoti-Uduaghan described the former governor and chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party as a major figure in the political history of Kogi State. She said his death was painful, coming at a time when the state and the PDP could still benefit from his experience. Idris served as governor of Kogi State from 2003 to 2012 on the platform of the PDP, defeating the then incumbent governor, Prince Abubakar Audu, in the 2003 election.
