A fire outbreak occurred at the Gombe Media Corporation (GMC) on Saturday at about 3:50 pm, affecting the old television studio, maintenance section, radio library, News Director's office, and the hostel accommodation for NYSC members. The fire destroyed properties and personal belongings of staff and corps members. Personnel from the state and federal fire services responded and brought the fire under control. No life was lost, although some individuals were affected.
