Vice-President Kashim Shettima has departed Abuja for New York to attend the 81st United Nations General Assembly (UNGA). He left from Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport on Sunday afternoon. The UNGA General Debate will take place from September 22 to 28, 2026, under the theme 'Restoring trust, managing transformation: A United Nations that delivers for all.' During the event, Shettima will deliver Nigeria's national statement and participate in high-level meetings on development, climate action, and other strategic issues.
