Only 1m Flyers Drive 15m Domestic Air Passenger Trips – Nwuba

Dr Alex Nwuba, President of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) Nigeria, has revealed that only about one million Nigerians account for the roughly 15 million domestic air passenger journeys recorded annually. He noted that the domestic aviation market has remained stagnant because air travel is beyond the reach of many Nigerians. Nwuba, who is also the second vice president of the Aviation Safety Roundtable Initiative (ASRTI), said the industry cannot grow substantially without making air travel more affordable and expanding the passenger base.
