The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has paraded Commandant Suberu Aniviye, who was earlier suspended over the deaths of suspected illegal miners in the Corps' custody in Niger State. Corps Public Relations Officer ACC Babawale Afolabi said Aniviye was paraded at the Corps headquarters in Abuja alongside others linked to the tragedy. Afolabi said three more personnel have been suspended in connection with the incident. He said Commandant-General Professor Ahmed Abubakar Audi has assured that due process, transparency and accountability will be strictly followed in the investigation, and that any personnel found culpable will face disciplinary measures and the law.
