Reactions trail Tinubu’s UNGA absence

Reactions have continued to trail President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's decision to delegate Vice President Kashim Shettima to represent him at the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York. This marks the third consecutive UNGA that Tinubu has missed in person since assuming office in 2023. The development came after Nigeria's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Jimoh Ibrahim, had earlier said Tinubu would attend the 81st UNGA. In a statement on Sunday, Stanley Nkwocha, spokesperson to the Vice President, announced that Tinubu had directed Shettima to represent him at the session.
