The Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project has asked the Federal High Court in Abuja to compel the Independent National Electoral Commission to disclose its systems for monitoring political contributions and campaign spending. In a suit marked FHC/ABJ/CS/2114/2026, SERAP seeks an order of mandamus requiring INEC to publish any contribution limits set under Section 91 of the Electoral Act 2026. The group also wants the commission to disclose measures for overseeing compliance by political parties, candidates and donors ahead of the 2027 general elections. SERAP said INEC failed to respond to its open letter seeking clarification on whether it had imposed such limits.
