The Federal Government's 2026 capital budget may not be implemented this year, according to a senior official in the Budget Office of the Federation. The budget is expected to be rolled over, as the 2024 and 2025 capital budget releases remain below 50 percent. Ministries, departments, and agencies have lamented the non-release of funds, and the government may seek a third extension for the implementation of the 2024/25 budget.
