Maryam Abiola from Lagos has won the first prize of the inaugural KCCN Short Film Contest 2026 for her film 'Too Loud'. The 10-minute fiction film explores emotional abuse, resilience, and a young woman's journey towards independence, inspired in part by the resilience of the Haenyeo female divers of Jeju Island. The second prize went to Jude Francis Terkuma for 'Unspoken', a romantic drama incorporating Korean pop culture. The third prize was awarded to Opara Barbra Ifeoma for 'I'll Do It For You'.
