Wike to Emerge APC Campaign Council Coordinator for FCT, Rivers

President Bola Tinubu has moved to define a role for Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike in his 2027 re-election campaign. Wike is expected to become coordinator of the campaign structure in Rivers State and the FCT, while remaining a member of the Peoples Democratic Party. The arrangement is intended to use Wike's political network without placing him within the All Progressives Congress hierarchy. It follows disagreement between Wike and several APC governors over support for the campaign.
