Ademola Osodi, Senior Special Assistant to President Bola Tinubu on Foreign Affairs and Protocol, dismissed suggestions that Tinubu has issues with the United States following the announcement of his third consecutive absence from the United Nations General Assembly. Speaking on Channels Television's Sunday Politics, Osodi called the suggestion an "old chestnut" and insisted that Tinubu has travelled to the US on previous occasions. He recalled being with the President at the United Nations and noted that Tinubu recently transited through Los Angeles on his way to Japan, spending a few days in the US.
