Shinkafi Opposes INEC’s Publication Of Zamfara North APC Candidate

Dr Sani Abdullahi Shinkafi, an APC chieftain and aspirant for the Zamfara North Senatorial District, criticized INEC for publishing Senator Sahabi Alhaji Ya'u as the party's candidate for the 2027 general election. Shinkafi alleged that the publication contravened a Federal High Court judgment in Gusau, which nullified the APC's senatorial primary election conducted on May 19, 2026. He called on INEC to withdraw Ya'u's name and comply with the court's order directing a fresh primary election. The court, in Suit No. FHC/GS/CS/6/2026 presided over by Justice Hassan Dikko, delivered the judgment on August 31, 2026, finding that due process had not been followed.
