The World Health Organisation (WHO) has donated essential medicines to the Zamfara State Ministry of Health to strengthen the state's preparedness and response to cholera, diphtheria and other vaccine-preventable diseases. The drugs were presented by the WHO State Coordinator, Dr Raji Mukhtar, to the state Commissioner for Health, Dr Nafisa Muhammad Maradun, at a ceremony in Gusau. Receiving the items on behalf of the state government, Maradun thanked the WHO for its continued support and partnership in strengthening public health interventions in the state. She said the donation would boost the state's preparedness and response to outbreaks, and assured that the medicines would be properly managed and used for their intended purpose, particularly in the treatment and management of cases across the state.
