The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has begun the acquisition of 12 AH-1Z Viper attack helicopters, with a beam-signing ceremony held at Bell Textron in Amarillo, Texas, United States. The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, led the NAF delegation to the ceremony. According to NAF Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, the milestone is part of the Nigeria-United States government defence cooperation programme and the Federal Government's efforts to modernise the Armed Forces. Air Marshal Aneke expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his support.
