POLITICO, CNN, and MSNOW are suing President Donald Trump and three top advisers after their journalists were banned from the White House. The outlets said in a joint statement that they filed the federal lawsuit to immediately restore access for their reporters, who were denied entry to the White House complex on Saturday and had their credentials confiscated by the Secret Service. They called the lockout a "direct assault on the First Amendment" and said the ban violates the First and Fifth Amendments. The news organizations stated they notified the government of the lawsuit to protect their First Amendment rights.
