National Theatre residency will prove Africa can host global music events — Davido

Nigerian Afrobeats artist Davido has stated that his three-night residency at Lagos' National Theatre will demonstrate that African artists can create major global music moments from home. The residency, scheduled for December 17 to 19, will feature performances celebrating his latest album, Oriadé, his biggest hits, and his 15-year career. In an interview with CNN, Davido compared the National Theatre to New York's Madison Square Garden, calling it "our own MSG" due to its significance to Nigeria's entertainment history. He emphasised the importance of showing the world that Africa has such facilities and can host global events.
