The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has connected its proposed boycott of the 2027 general elections to the continued detention of its leader, Nnamdi Kanu. The group also linked the political violence in Enugu State to the election boycott. IPOB stated that the boycott is a response to the detention and the violence.
