A middle-aged man identified as Livingston Nwakanma has allegedly killed his mother with a machete in Osaa Ukwu community, Obingwa Local Government Area of Abia State. The deceased, identified simply as Daa Nwaigbe, was reportedly preparing food in the kitchen when her son allegedly attacked her and inflicted a fatal cut on her neck. A community source said Nwakanma had allegedly exhibited troubling behaviour for more than four years. The alarm raised by a woman who saw him wielding the weapon reportedly attracted the attention of the deceased's husband, who rushed to the scene.
