Afe Adogame, a Professor of Religion and Society at Princeton Theological Seminary, has called for a holistic and interdisciplinary approach to insecurity in Nigeria. He made the call on Monday at the 2026 conference of African Universities Seminar Series Nigeria (AUSS-NG), hosted by the Institute for African and Diaspora Studies (IADS) at the University of Lagos. The conference was themed 'Citizenship, Belonging and Geographies of Conflict in Contemporary Nigeria.' Adogame argued that the country's security challenges are shaped by multiple interconnected factors, stressing that no single theory or approach can adequately explain the variety of conflicts and violence.
