A Business Insider reporter took their first cruise, a seven-day voyage on Royal Caribbean's Wonder of the Seas. The ship sailed round-trip from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, to Roatan, Honduras; Cozumel and Costa Maya, Mexico; and Royal Caribbean's private Bahamian island, CocoCay. The reporter was surprised by various aspects, including the first night feeling like an emergency, the cabin window being larger than expected, and taking the stairs being quicker than the elevator. They found that cruising is a lifestyle in itself.
