Avocats Sans Frontières France (ASF France) has expressed concern over the deaths of 37 alleged miners held in government custody at a Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps facility in Minna, Niger State. The organization called for independent forensic examinations and autopsies. It also urged the federal government to protect all surviving detainees and witnesses. Reports indicate that many of the deceased were between 14 and 18 years old, and survivors described severe overcrowding and inadequate ventilation.
