Major US television networks halted their 'pool' coverage of the White House on Monday in protest against President Donald Trump's decision to ban three leading outlets from covering the administration. CNN, MS NOW, and Politico also went to court after Trump ordered them barred on Friday. The top five broadcasters—ABC, CBS, CNN, Fox, and NBC—said in a joint statement that the public has a vital interest in receiving accurate, independent information about its government, and no administration should restrict a news organization because it objects to its reporting. The move means there will be no television coverage of Trump's activities for the day.
