Academic activities were restored on Monday at the Federal Polytechnic, Offa, Kwara State, after a crisis of confidence between the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP) and the school management. The suspended semester examinations of the institution also commenced on Monday on the two campuses. ASUP had on September 15, 2026 withdrawn its services pending the restoration of alleged security concerns raised by the institution. There had been a misunderstanding between the school authorities and ASUP over the holding of council meetings outside the polytechnic campuses for alleged insecurity, with ASUP accusing the management of misinforming the Federal Ministry of Education to justify holding its meetings outside the polytechnic.
