Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has rejected claims by supporters of Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi that Obi won Rivers State in the 2023 election. Wike argued that claims based on results from selected polling units cannot establish the overall winner of an election conducted across thousands of polling units. He said Rivers State had more than 7,000 polling units and insisted the final result could only be determined after all relevant results were collated and declared. He challenged those claiming Obi won to produce official result sheets.
