Waris Olayinka Akinwande, known as Ola of Lagos, has explained his decision to continue renting despite having the financial means to buy a house. Speaking on the KK Show, he said he has never slept in a house he purchased with his own money because paying rent motivates him to work harder. He noted that the financial responsibility of paying rent keeps him focused and reminds him of his obligations. He added that owning a home might make him relax, but emphasized that his choice is a personal opinion and should not be used to judge others.
