The Federal Ministry of Education has called on parents and guardians to ensure their children return to federal unity colleges as the 2026/2027 academic session begins nationwide. The appeal was made by Minister of Education Dr. Tunji Alausa amid concerns over communications from a group claiming to be the National Parent-Teacher Association of the colleges. The ministry disowned the association, stating it neither recognizes nor authorizes the group to speak for the 117 Federal Unity Colleges. The ministry clarified that the association does not represent individual PTAs and has no mandate to issue directives on behalf of parents or institutions.
