The Plateau State Government has imposed a dusk-to-dawn curfew on Barkin Ladi, Bokkos, and Mangu Local Government Areas following attacks and killings in the areas. Within two days, over 20 persons, including women and children, were killed in Mangu, Barkin Ladi, Bokkos, and Riyom LGAs, and many houses were burned. The curfew, which takes immediate effect, restricts movement between 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. until further notice. The Commissioner for Information and Communication, Joyce Ramnap, said the measure aims to maintain public order and prevent a breakdown of law and order.
