The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has approved a controlled process for candidates to update their registered GSM numbers or email accounts. The new arrangement, which began on Monday, 21 September 2026, follows a review of the Board's earlier ban on SIM swapping and changes to registered email addresses. JAMB said the previous restriction was a security measure due to vulnerabilities associated with changing contact details. The Board noted that enhanced security measures, including stronger identity and biometric verification systems, made the policy review possible.
