The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Lagos State has arrested two female suspects, aged 48 and 50, over the alleged production of fake fruit juice called 'Barkas Juice' in Badagry. The production involved mixing water, synthetic chemical flavourings, industrial sweeteners, artificial colourants, and chemical preservatives, while omitting real fruit. The suspects were apprehended after five days of surveillance by NSCDC operatives, who worked with the Nigerian Army to overcome resistance from some youths. The State Commandant of NSCDC, Lagos State Command, Adedotun Keshinro, commented on the operation.
