Nwabueze Charges Financial Journalists to Promote Tax Literacy

The Tax Ombud and Chief Executive of the Office of the Tax Ombud, Dr. John Nwabueze, has called on financial journalists across the country to promote tax literacy and foster better understanding of Nigeria's ongoing tax reforms. He made the call at the 36th Anniversary Conference of the Finance Correspondents Association of Nigeria in Lagos, where he spoke on the theme of building taxpayer confidence and trust in the tax reform agenda. Nwabueze said FICAN serves as an important bridge between policy institutions and the public by translating fiscal policies into information that businesses, households, investors and policymakers can understand. He identified five key areas where financial journalists can contribute, including explaining the law and its practical implications.
