The federal government has suspended the planned concession of King's College, Lagos, to the institution's Old Boys' Association by two weeks following a meeting with labour unions. The decision came after workers and parents protested the proposed 50-year concession, arguing it would privatize the 117-year-old school and restrict access to privileged children. The protest led to a confrontation and police intervention. KCOBA President Kashim Ibrahim-Imam defended the concession, stating the school remains federal government property.
