The Niger Delta Economic and Investment Summit was held from September 15 to 17, 2026, at the Obi Wali International Conference Centre in Port Harcourt. Organised by the Niger Delta Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Trade, Mines and Agriculture (NDCCITMA) with the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) as a strategic partner, the summit aimed to drive investment, innovation and industrial growth in the region. In a virtual goodwill message, the Director-General of the World Trade Organisation, Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, emphasised the need to move the region from lamentation about its potential to actual investment, industrialisation, job creation and value addition. The summit highlighted the paradox of the Niger Delta's vast natural resources coexisting with widespread poverty, unemployment, environmental degradation and deficient public services.
