President of the ECOWAS Commission, Gen. Birame Diop, has pledged to continue engaging with Member States on ensuring the implementation of decisions of the ECOWAS Court of Justice. He gave the assurance at the opening ceremony of the 2026 International Conference of the ECOWAS Court of Justice in Dakar, Senegal, on Monday. His speech, delivered by Mr Gaye Sowe, Director of Legal Affairs at the ECOWAS Commission, commended the Court for placing the lack of implementation of its decisions on the conference agenda. Diop said the gap between the authority of the Court's decisions and their execution remains one of the most serious tests of the credibility of the Community legal order.
