Aliko Dangote, President and CEO of Dangote Industries Limited, announced plans to take the group's fertiliser business public in 2028. He projected that the company would become the biggest fertiliser company in the world. The planned listing would follow the ongoing initial public offering (IPO) of the Dangote Petroleum Refinery, which he said was designed to broaden African participation in the ownership of major businesses. Dangote also said the fertiliser business was being expanded significantly, with a target of investing $46bn-$50bn across the continent and plans for 12 million tonnes of urea output.
