Parents and community members in Mussa and Lassa, Askira/Uba local government area of Borno State, have given the federal government a 6-day ultimatum to rescue 78 schoolchildren abducted by Boko Haram terrorists. They threatened to stage a protest at the Presidential Villa in Abuja if the children are not released. The children, 42 pupils from Mussa Primary and Junior Secondary School abducted on May 15, 2026, and 36 students and a teacher from Government Day Secondary School, Lassa abducted on June 29, 2026, have now spent over 130 days in captivity. The parents, joined by community members and children, defied heavy rainfall in the Mussa community to stage the protest.
