Swiss prosecutors have confirmed an investigation into Switzerland captain Granit Xhaka over allegations that he obtained a forged COVID-19 vaccination certificate in 2022. The public prosecutor's office in Lucerne is determining whether any criminal behavior occurred in obtaining a 'false or forged' certificate. Xhaka, who was playing for Arsenal at the time, said in a social media statement that he had 'mistrust' towards the vaccine and was 'influenced by worries and uncertainty.' He apologized and said he takes responsibility for his decision.
