Five herders were killed on Sunday evening in Kassa community of Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State. The deceased were buried on Monday in Muslim Cemetery in Bokkos. The victims were killed when they were transporting cattle from Bokkos to Jos South in a J5 vehicle. Gunmen reportedly opened fire on the vehicle around 3pm, killing the herders and the cattle. Two other occupants sustained injuries and were rushed to the hospital. The Plateau State Government has imposed a curfew.
