South African police have arrested three suspects in connection with a series of female homicides in Gauteng Province following the discovery of a tenth woman’s body in a Soweto dam. Passersby discovered the body of the unidentified victim, estimated to be in her mid-20s, at the Moroka Dam on Sunday afternoon, September 20, 2026. The discovery follows the deployment of a high-level police task force to investigate the deaths of nine other women found in the Ekurhuleni region since July. On Monday, September 21, law enforcement authorities announced the arrest of two women and one man linked to one of the Ekurhuleni homicides.
